Never let it be said that TCC don’t know how to turn a work trip into a jolly! Our beloved overlord Dave Stansbie has just returned from a 2-week ‘business’ trip to the tropical climes of the USA’s West Coast. Judging by his photos, the journey quickly turned into a misadventure of musical discovery. He managed to make time to go to the Mojave Desert to try (but fail) at catching a glimpse of Dave Grohl banging the skins at Queens of the Stone Age’s recording studio [top left]. Make an awkward plea (and succeed) at sleeping in Bono’s bed at the famous Harmony Motel - where U2 lodged whilst they recorded Joshua Tree [top right]. AND pay a visit to an old friend at the iconic Capitol Records Building in Hollywood [bottom left]. Sadly, due to reeeeeeeeeeediculous airline luggage rules he wasn’t able to bring us back a v. cool original Rolling Stones pinball machine [bottom right]. To be fair, it was his first holiday of the year. Welcome back rrr kid!

Target have used an innovative Facebook web cam-app to interview prospective students. 16 scholarships were up for grabs and all potential pupils had to do was take a webcam interview with the scholarship panel and people would vote on the videos. Great idea, unless you’re rubbish at interviews, natch.
Watch the best and the worst here.

To create one giant tribute to the late Neil Armstrong, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum used Twitter to repeat his epic 238,900mile journey to the moon. If you tagged an emotive Tweet with #onesmalltweet, we moved 100 miles closer to Luna. It’s a really inventive use of new technology to experience old achievements. Maybe we could use SPACEbook to get back?

We recently went on a company outing to the D&AD President’s Lectures ‘The Digital revolution 2.0’ in London. Guest speakers included graphic design & digital typography legend Neville Brody. The BIG question asked (and attempted to be answered) was What Is OUR Digital Future? Looking past the usual ‘we’re all doomed’ fodder were some interesting subjects including a lot of love for digi forefather Ray Bradbury - you name it; internet, iPod, eBook he thought of it first. Because the philosophical answer to the lecture was “to find the future, look in the past”, here’s 10 great facts you did/didn’t know about Mr. Bradbury.
